What to Expect on Your First Personal Training sessions with Home Help Plus

Embark on a path to enhanced strength, balance, and mobility with Home Help Plus. To start, contact us via phone, text, or our website. Prior to your initial session, please secure clearance from your physician. Necessary forms are available in our "Forms" section. At Home Help Plus, your safety and well-being are our foremost concerns.

Your First Visit

Our certified trainer will meet you at your home or preferred location at the scheduled time. Comfort is key, so we suggest wearing flexible, comfortable clothes and sneakers (slippers are not advised). The first visit involves a comprehensive interview to understand your medical history, goals, and physical capabilities. This is followed by a detailed physical assessment, including evaluations of your range of motion, muscle strength, balance (both static and dynamic), and mobility. Based on these insights, your trainer will craft a personalized training plan targeting your specific needs.

Tailored Training Plans

Our plans are meticulously designed to cater to your unique requirements, enhancing your independence and quality of life. We offer flexible options, including 1x, 3x, and 5x weekly sessions.

1x a Week: In this program, sessions are 1 to 1.5 hours long. It includes a weekly in-person session to review progress, refine physical form, and introduce new exercises. A daily routine is provided for continuous improvement.

3x a Week: Our popular choice. Three days a week, your trainer guides you through diverse and challenging exercises. It's ideal for enhancing balance and preventing falls. Schedules are typically M, W, F, or T, Th, Sa.

5x a Week: For those committed to intensive progress. This option mirrors the 3x program but with increased frequency for accelerated improvement in balance, endurance, and strength.

Preparing for Your Session

Expect a confirmation call from your trainer a day in advance. Please wear appropriate attire for movement and ensure you have closed-toe shoes. Hydration is vital – drink water before, during and after your session. Our trainers will arrive equipped with all necessary gear.

During Your Workout

Every session prioritizes safety. It begins with monitoring your vital signs – blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation. Customized to your ability, each workout involves balance and strengthening exercises. Sessions last 1 to 1.5 hours, including necessary breaks to prevent fatigue. Our objective is to diminish fall risk and empower you through increased physical strength.

Functional Progress Checkpoints

Periodic assessments similar to your initial evaluation will track your progress. These checkpoints allow us and you to see tangible improvements and adjust goals accordingly. Open communication about any discomfort or symptoms is crucial for your safety.
